CCICED 2018 Annual General Meeting Soon to Open

The 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) will be held in Beijing from November 1st to 3rd to explore the theme of “ Innovation for a Green New Era”.

Meeting participants will be briefed on the Council’s 2018 work report and 2019 work plan , and discuss the policy recommendations to be submitted to the Government of China. Eight reports will be submitted from the CCICED’s special policy study teams covering the following areas : Green Belt and Road Initiative and SDGs 2030 ; China’s Contributions to Global Climate Governance ; Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Conservation ; Global Ocean Governance and Ecological Civilization ; Green Urbanization Strategy and Pathways towards Regional Integrated Development; 2035 Environmental Improvement Goals and Pathways; Green Transformation and Sustainable Social Governance ; and Eco-compensation and Green Development Institutional Reform for the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Report findings have led to the recommendations that will be discussed by the CCICED.

On the margins of the meeting, a Roundtable on Low-Carbon and Circular Economy for Green Development will be organized, as well as eight parallel open forums focusing on aspects of the policy research work conducted this year.

AGM participants include Chinese and international members of the CCICED, its special advisors and a number of observers.
