CCICED held the 4th joint working meeting between the Secretariat and Chief Advisors in Beijing on 18 September. The meeting was chaired by Chief Advisors, Academician Mr. Shen Guofang and Dr. Hanson. The meeting focused on the preparation of the 2009 AGM. The meeting reviewed the progress of the five Task Forces to be reported to this year’s AGM (Task Forces on Energy Efficiency and Economical Instruments for Environment, Energy Efficiency and Urban Development, Pathways towards a Low Carbon Economy in China, Rural Development and its Energy, Environment and Climate Change Adaptation Policy, Sustainable use of Coal: Strategy and Policy), and discussed in-depth the drafting of 2009 Issues Paper and Policy Recommendations to the Government of China.
It was decided the Secretariat should work closely with the five Task Forces concerned to ensure the final reports to be submitted in due time. The supporting team to the Chief Advisors is expected to finish the drafting of 2009 Issues Paper and Policy Recommendations according to the discussions and agreements during the meeting.
