Mr. Ding has worked as an assistant researcher, vice researcher, researcher, the executive director and director of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Member of the Standing Committee of the 10th People's Political Conference of Beijing and a Member of the 10th National Committee of CPPCC and Vice Chairman of China Democratic League. At the same time, he holds such posts as the Director of Chinese Quaternary Research Committee, Vice Director of Chinese Goechemical Association for Minerals and Rocks and a member the Executive Committee of (IGBP-PAGES). Now he is the Vice President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
